Saturday-Sunday, Dec 2-3 in Washington, DC RootsCampDC is for people who played a role in the 2006 elections and are prepared to share with others innovations, failures, old wisdom and new discoveries. It is a place to engage with exceptional people from all levels and all sectors of the progressive movement with an eye towards doing things even better in 2008 and beyond. RootsCampDC is for EVERYONE who played any role in the 2006 elections -- including local staff, and local activists and volunteers.

The Event
This debrief is an open-space event. Some people have already floated ideas for sessions on the RootsCampDC Sessions page, but most sessions will come together at the event itself. There is plenty of room in the building and in the schedule for many sessions. You can conduct a session alone or with others. Formats of sessions vary -- presentations, discussions, Q&As, debates, or a mix. If you're holding a session, the format is up to you. Please try to arrive on time at 10AM on Saturday so we're all on the same page about how the weekend will work -- and so you can identify others whose work intersects with your own.

Overnight Stay
For our out-of-town guests who don't mind roughing it a little, we've rented a floor of the Josephine Butler Parks Center, a beautiful restored old mansion just up the road from the NEA, BOTH Friday and Saturday night. You are welcome to bring a sleeping bag and crash here. Talking deep into the night with your fellow progressives will far outweigh the comforts of that cushy $299/night hotel up the street ;-) There are showers.
